Irreversible Reality

how do i view myself?
ok how do you view yourself?
what determines your worth or identity?

i know that especially when we have a guilty conscience, we can allow the enemy to pin us down. we are bound to agree with him unless we are sure of the reality of redemption which is irreversible. so when i have confessed my sin to God 1 john 1:7 "if we walk in the light just as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his |Son cleanses us from all our sins...if we confess our sins to God, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanses us from all or sins. " So depending on his promises i know that my sins are forgiven when i confess them. but what do i do with my bad conscience?

now that i am in Christ, my identity has changed. "for God made him who knew no sin to become sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" 2 Cor 5:21. now that's who i am in Christ. this righteousness is based on faith in Christ and not on the works that i do. Phil 3:9

i am a child of God, "for as many as received him, who believed in his name, to them gave he the power to become the children of God." Jn 1:12. now, that's who i am.

then to crown it "you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may go and show forth the perfections of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. once you were not a people but now you are the people of God. once you had not obtained mercy, but now you have obtained mercy." now that is who i am in Christ.

it is when i am convinced about the finality of this reality, the finished work of Christ on the cross, that i will cease to work to acquire or earn this status of total acceptance in Christ. then i will live from a point of confidence. without this assurance,I struggle and are held in bondage of error.
