the 4th years dinner Friday (25th March),ran late into the night. we celebrated them in a hotel about 15 kms off campus. the travel arrangements had been sealed for the 71 students and staff who were present for the dinner. we also had the ministry van since the following day Saturday we were to have a leaders retreat.
however at about 2am the student in charge of the transport (an emerging leader) called the driver who was to pick the students and return them to campus. only to learn that he was asleep and wasn't going to wake up!! in fact he switched off his phone.
so he came to me,, "man we are in the hot soup,"
i inquired and after a little consultation the solution was to ferry the students back to campus but do several trips!
i engaged!
3 trips to KU and back.
wow i slept at 4.30am and was awake at 7:45am ready for the leaders retreat,
but as i drove with some of them(from UoN), our van broke down somewhere at langa'ta road. they took the public means and i had to return the van to the office for it to be taken to the garage. i had thought I'd follow them but after some time my strength gave way and i went home. and slept in that afternoon.
anyway, one of them had mercy and carried a limb for me!
real life is real good.
